Great BM.
(I didn't know you were interested in Formula One in USA ? )
Button is great, Hamilton is a good start, Barichello already really funny.
Who is the one with the big chin, because at this point, he's more looking like Fabien Pelous, famous french rugby player, than any driver (and Pelous is 1.98 m and 120 kg... not the standard of a driver ;) )

Anyway, you're making great caricatures. I know your work for years now and you seem to improve everytime.

BM/JMB - i too am impressed there's a US formula 1 fan I recognised them all as a fan also, they are excellent, the big chin is webber, would love to see them all coloured and finished... but how many are aware that a Scot just won the indy car series for a second time :)... despite his italian sounding name Dario Franchitti :)

Didn't know that supermouse ! I'm an avid F1 watcher, but not this disastrous year...so how does he stop his kilt from blowing up over his face when he "puts foot" ;) ?

Thanks everybody, i assumed i would get some response due to the largely European membership here.

It's true, F1 fans in america are few and far between, i only know two who share my enthusiasm for the sport. ironically, i don't follow much US racing.

anyway, i'm glad y'all are digging them. even if you don't know who they are, Jodie :).

here's the finished version of button.

sorry supermouse, don't see Todt in that one bit. his nose doesn't even come close to dominating his face like that.

i would say that when i think of jean todt i think short guy, square head, big cheeksm little smile, and squinty eyes.

Banga monkey - thanks for this, yep can't argue there, i'm very interested in how you seen things that i obviously don't, i may well just give up here, i've made a few changes, your opinion please, also Banga... i went and found a few other examples of Todt i hadn't seen, i never look at other examples of what i try and do if i can help it... i think i should from now on.... but!... i'd be very interested in your opinion of the two i found... one is the excellent op de beeck... where actually the nose does dominate the face , the other is another excellent artist, i kind of get the impression the result has been warped after the sketch, what's your take of these? both very different - thanks

Well, first of all you should stick to your practice of not looking at other's interpretations before starting a caricature.

secondly, sure, i can concede that a big nose really doesn't hurt the likeness, but for me it really isnt that big of a deal on his face. the reason that both of those others are successful is because ,regardless of the nose, all the other features are distinctly Todt, not because they picked a particular size for his shnoz.

In the case of your image, from the eyes up it has no resemblance to todt whatsoever. the mouth and the rest of the face you could get away with if the eyes were right. and that's not mentioning the giant neck, that kinda came out of left field. he's a squat old man, with practically no neck at all.

Banga - thanks for your comments here, y'know when someone presenrs a caricature of a subject, then apart from obvious likeness diferences, that's exactly what they are to me, even if they look like they have been drawn as two different people... ok i'll keep going on this a bit longer, especially on the eyes up, as far as the neck goes, i stopped before i got to doing anything with that yet, thanks again

a MUCH better likeness imo.

it's obvious you've concentrated on getting the likeness this time.
